Sarah Wheale-Smith

Sarah is a consultation and engagement practitioner with over 12 years’ experience in the design, management and delivery of community engagement and consultation projects.  Her experience includes community and stakeholder engagement ranging from pre-school children to chief executives to the socially excluded. Sarah believes in embedding approaches to engagement and communication at the heart of projects. Her work is characterised by a creative, engaging, and inclusive approach underpinned by excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sarah seeks to innovate and develop approaches to consultation to ensure that it is not just a tick box exercise but listens to communities, providing meaningful insights and evidence to support collaborative change.

Prior to joining PRD Sarah developed and carried out successful engagement and research strategies for a range of projects including the Neath Port Talbot Play Sufficiency Assessment, Huntingdonshire Healthy Open Spaces Strategy, 10 Year Plan for Wythenshawe Park and the Margate Town Deal.

She has a Professional Diploma in Marketing and is a Member of the Consultation Institute. She became a Green Flag Judge in 2012 and is continuing to develop her skills through a diverse range of training and conversations with other engagement practitioners.
