Francesca Higginson
Fran is a Consultant at PRD, specialising in policy and literature reviews alongside data collection and analysis. She worked previously at Westminster Forum Projects as an Editorial Researcher, keeping up with the latest policy and legislation developments within the Energy, Environment and Infrastructure team. This role entailed policy research, conference planning alongside stakeholder mapping and engagement with both private and public sectors. She also has previous experience in marketing for Knight Frank, public affairs at Weber Shandwick and fundraising at Médecins Sans Frontières.
Fran completed a BA at King’s College London in Geography and a MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London, focusing on environmental economics, policy and law. Her interests lie in the intersections between environmental and socioeconomic challenges with a strong focus on creating sustainable, long-lasting change for local communities. During her academic career, she undertook a variety of research projects whilst completing her bachelor’s degree including a project in Kerala, India looking at the impacts of male emigration upon female autonomy alongside a research thesis considering the barriers to undertaking environmentally friendly diets. Whilst completing her master’s she undertook a thesis looking at adaptive capabilities and climate vulnerabilities in Trinidad & Tobago, considering the potential role of the Loss & Damage scheme in aiding climate adaptation and mitigation efforts.
